What is the best prop for a 461vs

    I have a 23p 4 blade trophy
on my 1998 Mercury 150 efi.

It is on my 1998 ranger 461vs.
    running 56mph at 5700 rpm.

Six inch jack plate with motor set at 3.5
    inches pad to prop center.

Great hole shot, but would like more speed.
Is this all I can expect out of the 150.

Boat is rated for a 175.

23" tempest plus would be my choice for a Ranger or have your trophy repaired to factory spec and get rid of the slip which should gain you 2-3 mph.

Have a 175hp Mercury exhaust tuner installed on your 150 and have the ECU reprogrammed at a Mercury dealer and you'll bump you motor up near a 175. I had this exact same set up a while back and did this. I can't remember how many RPM's I gained, but I remember being happy that I did it.
My old boat was too small.

    +1 for the Tempest plus
I have a 1996 482vs with 150xr6, six inch jackplate, and 23 Tempest (stock). 59.4 gps at 5450 rpm. Still working on finetuning the setup to get more rpm, but happy with performance and bow lift.
