It just came to my attention that the vertical distance between the centerline of the pivot points and the centerline of the lower ball stud attachment as it is called out is less than it should be. The problem this causes is that the upper arm hits the stud washers when deployed preventing the bracket from locking down.
I don’t know the vertical drop on this instal but it prevents the bracket from locking down.

This picture is my Trolling motor and the vertical measurement is about 7/8 IN. I am changing the dimension on the PDF to 1 inch vertical drop to gain a little more clearance. Worst case, you may have to clear out a little of the plastic under the bracket to make space for the washers.

If you are upgrading to a Fortrex or Ultrex, you can use your Maxxum motor as a backup by changing the MAXXUM bow guard to the Fortrex bow guard. By doing this you can change out the motor on the bow bracket with one screw.
I changed mine so it will fit on my Ultrex 80 lb 45 inch.

Just wanted to say thanks for the plans! I did this a few weeks ago, and can't believe how much easier it is to deploy and stow.

I even got the piston kit from Amazon warehouse for $7. The thread was M8x1.25, but that was the only difference. Best $10 upgrade ever!

Bob I sent you a copy of the PDF via email.

I am attaching a copy of the PDF build sheet, you can download or print.

BTW: I have a complete upgraded bracket in the attic I will sell for $50 but it would need to be a local pickup near Hot Springs AR. (Sold)

I still see quite a few MAXXUM’s on the water and thought it would be helpful to bring this back to the top.

I replaced missing pic and updated the post.

    Here’s another tip:
If you are upgrading from an 80# 24 volt MAXXUM to an Ultrex or Fortrex, you can change the bow guard on the MAXXUM motor and have a backup that fits the Ultrex/Fortrex bracket by just removing one screw. I did this when I upgraded to an Ultrex 4 years ago. Haven’t had to use it but still take it along on all out of state fishing trips.
