    Ohio River

I’ve been planning on heading down to the river. I’ve never been and was wondering if it would be worth going after the rains from earlier this week. Is it going to still be flooded on Saturday or will it be starting to clear up. Is it worth fishing this weekend or should I wait another week. Also where would be a good place to start. I’ll probably be putting in at Ripley.

Mactlman is right. There is a usabassin regional this Sunday out of white oak on the upper pool. I went down today yo check it out. River is stained but fishable it's up about 6 inches at the chilo ramp. It's about 1.5 feet up at white oak creek. It will be almost to pool Sunday.

Wonder why they keep that pool so much lower than Cincy pool? Anyone in the know?

It's not just that pool the lower pool is the same way. If you go down to Craig's creek right now it won't be up that much. As the river goes from dam to dam the river goes from skinne to very wide. You have more room for the water to spread out.
