Looking to buy passenger console best place to buy (RANGER DEALER ?) how hard to install?

I can’t imagine too many other places to buy than through Ranger. I did a quick search and came up with a couple of statements within the last 2-3 years of Ranger owners saying Ranger would only sell passenger consoles through their dealers, and the dealers had to (or were supposed to...) do the installation—for liability purposes. Reported prices were just north of $1000, but that would surely vary over time, by model, and possibly by dealer, in terms of their shop time and labor rate. More recent examples would be welcome.

P.S. I don’t believe the installation could be that dramatic a deal, but it’s certainly a good idea to know what you’re doing when you’re installing, large, heavy objects onto the hull of expensive boats. My current boat has a dealer-installed passenger console, and I had it for 6 months before inadvertently learning that it wasn’t original equipment. Wouldn’t want that bad boy hitting someone in the face at 70 mph.

I know its only 6 bolts and glue holding it down.. i call my local ranger dealer they said 1200 and would install it for 200 if I bought threw them. I told them i would call back had to get ok from wife.. called back week later price was 1200 but install would be 600 for 6 hours of work .. Dont mind spending money for job but, as soon as they knew i had money they raised the price..

I would call Ranger Parts. Have your serial number. They will tell you what’s what. In other words, will they sell you a console direct, and will it have any effect on hull warranty if you choose to install yourself. If Ranger tells you that a dealer must install, tell them what you’ve told us. Or just find a more professional dealer. There are a lot of great Ranger dealers across the country, but a few bad apples in every barrel.
