I recently bought a 2005 TR-175 this fall. I'm running right around 43-44 mph solo with the 90 elpto turning 5900 rpm. I have a 20p Laser 2. I plan to get a 22p Laser 2 over the winter to lower my rpms. I went to measure my prop to pad but the motor is so low on the transom that I couldn't even level the boat out to get the measurement. I plan to raise the motor from the 2nd hole down to the 4th hole down from the top. This should bring me up about 2". My question is what would be the best way to move the motor up with out having the use of a lift or hoist? Can I pull the bolts and lift the motor by raising the jack on the trailer? From what I have read this seems to be the best option. Any input would be greatly appreciated. If anyone is running the same setup and would like to chime in on their setup I would appreciate it!
