    Elephant Butte?

Any news on the fishing at Elephant Butte? State report says good. I just don't want to drive that far if not good fishing.

The Duke City Bass Bums had a 2 day team tournament last weekend, took 17+ lbs to win. 14+ took forth. Big bass was 4.0? lbs. There were also teams that had 6 lbs and less. A few struggled. I believe there were 9 or 10 teams. When I go out it's mid to late morning, each day is different. I may catch a small limit one day and 1 to 3 keepers the next. Seems like the lake changes every day.

Water temp was 62+ today, caught 3 shorts and a 1.5-2 lb black. To add to that we caught 9 nice whites. Fished from 9:15 to 2:00. Couldn't ask for a nicer day in Nov.

Bass fishing is not stellar. I'll be going out again Wed, 9 am to about 2 pm unless the weather doesn't co-operate. I'll post results.

Good job, Jeff and me are heading down tomorrow for the weekend. Sounds like the lake is doing pretty good. See the water is still going up also. You stayin mostly down south, or heading up north also?

If the weather is good tomorrow I will probably hit the lake late morning. Do some running, look for new habitat and maybe some fishing.

Went out today for a couple of hrs with a good friend, did a small amount of fishing and some cruising and looking around. A gorgeous afternoon on EB. Send some water or snow south.

    Gauge USBR:EBDN5
Dead pool elevation 4,231.5 ft above NGVD29
Volume under conservation pool elevation 1,973,358.0 ac-ft
Emergency spillway crest elevation 4,414.0 ft above NGVD29
Maximum design elevation 4,415.0 ft above NGVD29
Top of dam elevation 4,414.0 ft above NGVD29
Conservation pool elevation 4,407.0 ft above NGVD29
EB is currently 72.4 ft below conservation pool which is what I have called spillway for many years. It is still coming up very slow. We need lots of snow and rain.
