    Steps for trailer

Anyone on here ever installed the Easy Step system on an older Champ? Would like to have a way of getting in and out of the boat to unhook and rehook boat to trailer. Noticed I have been getting old lately and need to install something. Naturally they don't list a Champion on web site. They have a model you can swivel out of the way when needed. Anyone have any info? I hate to be the first to give it a try,but will if I can't find someone who has.

Guess my trailer will be the test subject. looks like everyone is healthier than me! Until 3 years ago I could almost jump from ground to bow of boat. Ortho surgeons stopped that for me!

This has to be the easiest website on the entire internet to post pics on. No hosting site needed, just upload right from your pc, like FaceBook.

I installed a piece of diamond plate steel under my winch to make a step to get in and out of my boat it is the same width as the winch and sticks out about 6 inches
it works great. just step on trailer tongue then the step then into the boat

I bought the Cabelas trailer step. Cheap L shaped step that bolts to the trailer. I am 68 years old and 260 and it has worked great for several years for me.

Thanks for responding men! This does give me some ideas and options. I most definitely could build my own,but getting a pacemaker replaced at 8 in the morn. Then I have to get my left hip re replaced! Botched job on it and had to change doctors. I have been to 3 more and they sent me to a revision specialist in Jackson,Ms. 4 doctors agree it was put in incorrectly. Problem now is I have to wait 3 months before I can have hip surgery due to getting pacemaker/defib replaced. Heart doc said I won't need a hip if I don't do this fast. Never thought I would live to see the day I needed steps to get my boat launched!

I just had my 9th eye surgery....getting in and out of my boat is OK so far....I use the step on the trailer just forward of the wheel fenders....but, if I needed another way, the Easy Step would my next purchase...

Pretty sure these guys are launching by themselves that's why they are adding steps on the bow.

We have a lot of elec motor only lakes in our area so its nice to have something to hold onto to winch boat up, plus gives you a true center point to line up to power load.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. When I was launching by myself, I simply tied a long rope on the boat, undid the winch strap and backed in far enuf to allow the boat to slide off trailer. Then walked, holding rope, down the courtesy dock and tied off. Parked vehicle and boarded the boat off the dock. Just another way to do it when alone. Definitely can see where the steps would be beneficial, too.
