If your ambient air temp is regularly 100 degrees plus I'd run 25W-40. Other than that I'd run 10w-30.

Mercury's recommendation is the 25w40, unless you will be running in extremely cold winter temps.

Mercury or Quicksilver Fourstroke Oil would be my recommendation.

For Gear Lube: Mercury or Quicksilver High Performance Lube.

Ok I've been asking what oil is recommended for the 150 FourStroke, book say 25w-40 & 10w-30. I ended up buying the 25w-40 for after break in to change it. I just installed a VesselView Mobile & when I had the cowel of the guide on the motor only had 10w-30. Any taught if I should use the 25w-40 or get 10w-30??? Tried messaging Mercury on Facebook but no replies back.#MercuryMarine

In post #6 Don gave you his answer. He is a Mercury certified technician. Either one is fine if you operate in moderate temperatures. If you regularly run in sub freezing temperatures use the 10w30 and warm your motor up good before running wide open. If you don't fish in the winter the 25w40 if fine.

I use 10w30 in my 2015 115 4stroke even here in Tennessee but I regularly crappie fish in the winter.

See post #6. Your manual is correct- label space is limited, full reference for maintenance and/or repairs is located in the Service Manual.

You can also use the QR code on that label to watch some interesting videos. Don't take everything in them to heart... some of them have some funny errors.
