2003 203 elite prop question
I have a 2003 champ 203 elite powered by a 2017 mercury proxs 250 .Has a 10" atlas hydraulic jackplate, dual 8ft powerpole blades ,and 36v fortrex. I was running a 26p trophy 4 blade and fully loaded inly hitting 66-68mph at 5800rpm. Well in guntersville this weekend i slung a blade and had to buy a 26p tempest plus to get me by the rest of my trip but it will only run 60mph no matter where i put my jack plate. I feel like i shpuld atleast be hitting 70 on any given day. What prop do yal recommend for my setup? What speeds shpuld i be seeing.

What were your rpms with the temptest?

26 tempest nearly always time is flawed. And yes you should see 70 with it.
Too many questions to give exact answers but further is was it new in the book x?

Rpms with tempest were around 5400 to 5600. And no it was a used tempest.

Prob lost cupping and the motor should run closer to 6k. A 25 would be better.
or someone might have worked it up to a 27”. Prob gonna have to ship it to a prop man.

My next door neighbor has the same boat with a new 250 Mercury on his and can run mid 70's with a tournament load. Not sure what prop he has. I tried a 26 Tempest on my boat and it ran terrible. I ran a friends 25 Tempest and it was faster. I was told the same thing Pat told you about the 26 Tempest. Most do not work as intended.
