Headed up this weekend for a couple days on Pickwick and 1 on Bay Springs. Not sure where I'm launching on Pickwick yet but will probably split time in Yellow and Mill Creek. What temps are you guys seeing?

66-67 on pickwick.
It was 65 to start the day Thursday. likely a little warmer due to a few days of rather warm days and nights.
As of today it was 66.
Thanks! That last cold snapped dropped us quick from 71-72 to 67-68 so I was worried it might have fallen off even more up north.

You don't have to worry much about water temps until late Jan. or Early Feb. Unless you fall in! Then you need to worry! fish on Pickwick or Bay stay pretty active until the surface temps fall below 50.Then you can still catch them but,you will have to slow down a lot.
Oh yeah 50 to 55 degree water on Pickwick is fun. Get to start slinging a jerkbait! Jerk, jerk,pull....eat a samich, jerk, jerk, pull...drink a cup of coffee, jerk, jerk, pull...hang on tight and get tha net!
Live Hard, Fish Harder!
A-rig time! I never really got to fish much in Dec or Jan due to my sons wanting me to deer hunt. When I do get to all I have on deck is a jerk bait,A-rig,and drop shot. You usually don't catch many, but some of the biggest fish I have ever caught where had at that time of year.
Don't try to launch at Mills Creek. It's dry.
66-67 on ferg Thursday

Yeah, I was caught off guard by the water level. First time I've been up there this late and didn't expect that much draw down. I struggled to get bites. Found shad everwhere i went and graphed(and saw with my eyes) plenty of fish, just couldn't get consistent bites. They were destroying shad all around me but I just never found the bait that they would commit to. Got tons of follows and short strikes but the bite was off for me. I hooked several of the shad and they were on the smaller side, I thought about running down river to look for some bigger shad and hopefully bigger bites but I had a hard time convincing myself to leave

Caught several this past weekend. Could not get them to commit to anything but a a Carolina rig with a cotton candy 6" straight worm. Only one over 5 lb and the rest 1-3 lbs. Didn't get it figured out until mid day. 4-8 ft. All I could get going and was all in 2 spots. Drains and small ditches. Weather sort of had them slowed down for me. Had to soak it a bit.
