Take good care of my reels but have a few casting reels that even with the drag tightened down, there is still some slippage. Is that fixed as easily as changing the drag washers?
if so, are carbonatex the best?
thanks a bunch!

I’ve always just stuck with oem drag washers for my Shimanos but carbonated have a great reputation.
If you’re using braid though, make sure you have backing or tape in there or it will just free spin on the spool when you set the hook.
I have mono backing so that's not an issue...
some me of the reels are 10 years old so I figure that's part of it...otherwise shimano still working great!
Carbon Tex is great for added smoothness and drag consistency .
That's what I've read...hoping to figure it out if replacing the drag washers will be the fix...
Might not be the drag washers in the stack. Could be the metal spring washers flattened out located under the drag star.
ok, thanks ccm! Might be the case! I'll have a look!
Would help to know type of reels....

Those are wet drags and yours are probably dried out. Washers need grease to create drag.....
