The Plus version ships with the CV52 xducer.

The bail mount/cradle is different (see links below).

Just an update on this - I had taken apart the 70s a couple times, tried it with SD card installed and not installed, but nothing was working. Here and there I would see the Garmin startup logo, but then the screen would go blank. Was about to send it in and eat the repair fee, but noticed there was an update for these units. Dumped the update on an SD card and plugged it in, turned the unit on and it started right up. It seems my issue is resolved Wanted to post an update in case someone else is having the same issue - I hate when I find a thread that's relevant to an issue I'm having and no resolution is posted!

Another update. While the unit powers on, it will freeze and not respond, or shut off altogether. I checked the system information error codes and found it logged "abnormal shutdown" or "RTL trap" codes.

I've attached the RTL trap error screens. Can anyone provide any input? I imagine this is something that an engineer would have to look over to be able to tell what the codes mean?

If it helps I'm running a GVC 10 w/gt30 networked to a 70s and 70dv, all running latest software. The 70s shuts down even when disconnected from the network and with no transducer plugged in.
