    Promax Question (

Let me start off by saying I don't have an Allison

You guys seem like the gurus on the promax prop though...I have a 250 HO Evinrude G2 on a Xpress X21 (with lithium batteries)...1.85...I'm spinning a 28 Raker HO prop to 5900 RPM with two guys and fully loaded.

I would like to try a promax on my rig but have no idea where to start. Any suggestions?

I would think with that gear ratio you would want a 29 maybe 30. I have an XB21 300 XS 1.75 gear and run a 28 it turns almost 6300 so I am shopping for one it the 30 to 32 range.

It would be interesting to hear how a Promax works on that hull! Based on your current rpms a 28/29 should do the trick. I do not know how the Promax will run at lower engine heights. Mine loves being above the pad but totally different boat, motor, lower unit combos! I would expect it will want to run higher than the raker.

Thanks tritontr21...I'm going to give it a try if I can find a good deal on a lightly used one. I'll be sure to report back.

If I still had mine I'd say meet me at demopolis to test it, cheaper than buying 1 to test.

In my experience,(not alot),with omc rakers they are way off on actual pitch, like marked 27 but really only 25, this may have changed on newer ones.
