What the heck is that thing?

My '08 Z9 has a big hose connected to a big fitting in the bilge area. The big fitting in the bilge goes thru the bottom of the boat and is open to the outside. The big hose is connected to it and goes up towards the back of the boat and exits thru another big fitting in the top cap of the boat next to the motor and live well pump out fitting. Nothing is connected to the big hose inside the bilge or otherwise. Basically it's just a big hose that connects to nothing! Could it be an air pressure relief hose on the pad area kinda like an early version of their Rapid Plainning System?

It removes any air pocket build up under the pad I think.

Stupid question, buy why is a vent pad required? Why was it installed? Never heard of this before.

because it would hold a vacuum to the water making holeshot slower, by putting the vent it starts removing water almost instantly

Where would you get one installed and what would make you get one or know that you need one? Its just a hole with a hose connected? Guys, I apologize for all of the questions, I just have never heard of this and my curiosity is high. Yall have my full attention on this one. LOL Does anyone have a picture?

If it's not there from factory I wouldn't think about adding one unless you mock it up with a garden hose ran though the jack plate first to see if it matters, pretty much a hose that goes from air to under the step to relieve the vacuum

If u don't have one u may not need it. Was added early production models on the 9 series. Like 99 or 00 models.
