My birthday present from my daughter

I posted about this in the lounge but I figured I'd tell you guys in here because like me, you ate too much Saturday at Octoberfest.

My daughter told me not to make any plans for this past Sunday. She wouldn't tell me anything other than that she was taking me on a two hour drive and to be ready to leave the house at 2:00pm. Well, we leave the house and start driving south. About two hours later we are in Rhode Island and I have no idea where we are going. We pull into the parking lot of this lake front restaurant with manicured grounds, a huge fire pit, and a parking lot where I saw license plates from NH, MA, RI, NY, NJ and a few other states.

It was a buffet type restaurant but it was unlike any other I've seen. The all you can eat included prime rib, filet mignon, ribeye, tenderloins, lobsters, crab legs, oysters, and more than I can type. It was amazing. The place was called the Nordic Lodge. It wasn't cheap but then again it's not the type of place you go to every few weeks. I left there feeling like I had a food baby in my gut. It was the best birthday meal I have ever had.

Happy Birthday Frank. Thought about surprisiing my brother with a trip to the Nordic but with a 2 hour limit, We'd still be working the appetizers.

Thanks Mac. I too was concerned about the time limit but 90 minutes into it I had eaten an embarrassing amount of food.

I've never had A Guinness. Usually plural.
