2005 294 pro xl set up help

Hey guys. I'm sure this has been asked a half a million times. But in having some issues setting up my 294. Is a 2005 model with a 200 ox66 Yamaha. It had a Yamaha vmax t1 25p prop on it and it had so much lift I couldn't drive it and had a bad porpoise. So I seen that a few guys was running 26p props so I got a 26p tempest and put on there. I still have a great hole shot even with full gas a loaded woth 2 people and gear and live wells full. My issue is with the 26p I'm only getting 59mph while turning 5900 Rpms. No chine walking or nothing. I can drive it easy at that. Was told I had some prop slippage and to have some cup added to prop. So I sent prop off to have it balanced and cupped (not blue printed) got the prop back and tried it this weekend and I'm still running same numbers. 5900rpms and 59mph. I'm waiting to get in touch with the guy who did my prop. I'm hoping maybe he forgot to add the cup to the prop because there is zero difference in the performance after having prop worked. Any thoughts from people that may have dealt with this issue.

Something is way off. I run a 2004 195 ProXL with an Evinrude 200HO and can get 69-70 mph with a magnum case. I run a 26 tempest worked by Propeller Dynamics in Chesterfield Va. You may want to check your prop to pad height, should be around 3.5 to 3.0 inches below pad.

I checked it a few months ago. Seems like it was 3.25 inches. I've been talking with mark croxton. Hoping he can help me get it straightened out. I've read that most people can get upper 60s tournament loaded with these boats.

I can run 69-70 loaded with everything i got, with 2 guys and livewells full AND with SEI L/U on my 200 opti. She should have way more in her than 59mph.

The prop that had so much lift you couldnt drive it, learn to drive with that one if you want to see good top end numbers. The reason the other prop is so easy to drive is because it ISNT lifting... No lift = no chine walk but also no speed

    26p Fury

Risco is right. these hulls LOVE lift. Once you learn to drive it you won't notice the chine walk you'll drive strait through it with no affect, but as your learning if she ain't walking your not going to get the speed.

Ive tried a 26 fury, 26 razor xl, 27 tempest, 26 trophy, 27 razor 3......Far and away the fastest propeller is a blueprinted txp. 26 for summer and 27 for winter. Fury is a close second.

    2014 294 evo
    2014 200 pro xs

Croxton blueprinted and sharpened the edges on the txp's. 300lb of man, 4 group 31s and my gear 74mph

Hey guys. Thanks for the replies. Had more cup added to the 26 tempest. Havnt gotten to try it again yet. And as for the prop I couldn't drive, it wasn't that I couldn't drive thru the chine walk, it was once i got into speed and started to really trim out I would get a bad porpoise while running upper 50s. I've driven plenty of boats woth chime walk. Just never had a problem with high speed porpoising.
