    Promax Prop Comparison

FYI, I run a 23p PM for a fishing prop on my 20XDC with a modified 260 hanging off the rear and a 26p PM for Summer Play.
After a Summer of both and running many times I've checked the prop slip which is positively Excellent on these props!
Runs were mostly made with just me, 1/2 tank of fuel, nothing in the well but all my fishin gear!
I'm totally impressed with these ProMax Props!!!

I run a 27 promax at 4-5% prop slip also. Hole shot is not as good as a bravo but still not bad.

I've helped the 26P holeshot on my setup by drilling 4 extra PVS holes. I run the rear 4 open and the front 4 with 2 closed. The 23P holeshot is good with PVS closed!
I had a 23 Bravo that ran more slip but was a rocket in the hole with the launch going straight forward with very little bow lift.....it left like I was on the bottle but had to much slip to my liking!
This engine dynoed at 309 at 8700rpm and the limiter on the Brucato box is set at 9K, so I have no problem running a smaller pitch prop!
I also use Steve's low profile Powerpole mounts which keep the poles from waving in the breeze and also lower the CG!

Dang Steve, that's as strong as train smoke. I have only seen 81 and some change with the modded 225 on mine so far with a TXP. I have the 6750 limiter though. Be safe out there man.

Thanks Man, You need to try a PM when you get a chance! You may have to play with the height again if you do! Mine seems to run it's best at 1.5 above!

The Promax props are stiff props,a 26 pitch is closer to a 27 pitch prop, a 27 pitch is closer to a 28-28.5 pitch prop and a 28 pitch is closer to a 29 pitch prop and so on. Also tachs are normally off by 150-250 RPM on topend unless it's a digital Tach. There should be around 250-300 RPM difference between each pitch, but you only have 200 RPM difference where there really should be around 750-900 RPM difference between a 23 pitch and a 26 pitch prop.

I tried a 28-29 and a 30 promax on my rig. Pro ET, Performer BC and Performer ET are faster on my rig. My 30 Performer ET is 5mph faster then my 30 promax.

Personally i'm not a big fan of them, 0-40 on my rig there slow, After 40mph they pull hard tho.

I'd love to see a GPS vid of your boat running 100+.

Those numbers are very puzzling indeed! I've never heard of 23 pitch with a 3% slip...usually double that on a very good day. Come to think of it I've never even heard of a 32 with a slip that low either...and the big wheels slip less than the smaller ones. Those promax props must be all that along with the chips...maybe I should get one!?

Top vid is a 30 promax, bottom vid is a 30 performer ET

30 promax has a 170lbs passenger, 30 Performer ET had a 230lbs passenger. Both equal the performer ET ran 102, the promax ran 97.

Paul, running the SAME SPEED between the 23 and the 26 there's not 200rpm diff....there's 750-850rpm difference, but if they are that stiff then I'm running closer to 7% slip! Not as impressive but certainly acceptable and would probably improve with some weight dumped!
    Thanks for your input!

Very impressive Hyperflow! You covered a bunch of water in a very short time...boat drives well too! How many different counties did you rip through...!? Very much enjoyed the viewing...really good stuff man! Thanks for sharing!

But if your turning a 26 pitch 8000 RPMs you should be able to turn a 23 pitch around 8800 RPM, what doesn't make sense is only being able to turn the 23 pitch 200 more RPMs than the 26 pitch prop.

Maybe if the 23 has been unknowingly turned up to a 25...but then the speed numbers between the 2 would be a head scratcher.

I see what you're saying now!!
I guess it was deceiving that I calculated the 23 at only 8200 when in actuality I can turn the 23 to more than the 9k limit. I've just never strung it out to get numbers with the 23.
My poop-chute kinda starts shrinking when I pass 8k and I ease off. Were I 25-30 years old again for a few days.....I looked at things a little different and ran everything I had to the max with the cost of a rebuild never entering my mind!
BTW, the 26 wasn't to max either but may give it a try one of these days as my comfort range at this time is still at 80-85 and seldom go past it!!

This just keeps getting better. If the 26 wasn't to the max at 101 then you could have yourself a 110 mph dual consoled, standard weight, fully rigged Bullet there...if only you were at full throttle and running a Performer ET. Wow...that's one fast Bullet! I'm at 295 hp on a fairly light 20cc (no power poles) and I can't even hit a 100 yet...but I think my 30 pitch Bravo slips more than 4% though.

Thank you very much. I have a bunch of vids on there. Are speed run day is coming very shortly. I did a few changes that made the boat faster so I’m hoping for 103 2 guys loaded to fish this year.

Im hoping to put my hands on a 32 before to try and get a big number.
