How much does a trolling motor on front of boat cost in speed? Or, if you swap trolling motors, and weight difference is is +- 20 lbs, how much would it hurt/help performance?

Typically a hundred pounds equals a mph. Stuck on the very front I think it makes a bit more.
Your windshields make more drag than the troll motor.

Easy to find out just put 20 lbs in the center front locker. If you run with seats on pedestals it costs you too.
Good idea, don't (usually) use seats

I don't use them either but some people do and run with them folded but on the pedestal. A few years ago a guy on another site tried running with a MG then a new Minn Kota which was heavier and it cost him 1 mph. Those bow mounted 10" and 12" graphs have got to catch a lot of air too.
my terrova has to weigh at least 15 pounds less than my fortrex and my fortrex is .5 mph slower... same as a humminbird 999 hanging off the side of the console

They say troller makes huge difference on stroker /allison for top end. I fish my xb03 so i'm always heavy. I cant tell if my gear slows me down with a 300pm. It would with a 2.5 prolly.
