    hybrid striped bass

Do any Indiana lakes still have good populations of hybrid striped bass? Monroe did years ago and heard Brookville did at one time but did not know anything current.

Monroe. I am hearing that they recently stocked some in Patoka, but they are probably not catching size yet.

    Potato creek state park
they stocked them a few years ago and are doing well. A buddy caught them 2 weeks ago on chicken liversfrom shore.
the only bad thing is it’s a trolling motor lake only.

Lake Monroe has monster stripers in it. This time a of year and in early spring are the best time to catch them shallow.....following bait.

They did stock them in Brookville, many years ago. For a very short time, they were catching some nice fish there. There was even a national striper tournament of some kind that came to Brookville, as a regular part of their tournament trail. They came two years in a row, then never came back. The second time they had it, I think there might have been one keeper weighed in out of several boats. That was probably back in the late 80's, early 90's. As Dan said, the just don't exist there. I imagine there are a few stray ones roaming around, but no one is catching them.

With buddy of mine, Dick Lange, I caught this one at Heritage Lake in 2011 on a crankbait...went 12.4 pounds and took a bit to get it in...

heritage lake has lots of them,i have never caught a big one but hundreds of 9-15 inch ones,BRIAN WALDRUM (big indiana bass)i think he caught a 29 or 39 lb one there,in the bait house there are some pictures of huge ones, and huge catfish there also,i think a guy had a 79lb catfish there last year (i caught a 35lb one this year on a c-rig)

Record is from below lake freeman at oakdale if memory serves. Used to be a good wiper fishery, not sure about now.
