Does cooking burgers and dogs on a pellet grill have a smoky flavor or is that just on the lower heat settings?
Thanks,
Bill

lower heat settings gives best smoke. buy you a smoke tube if you want more smoke....
burgers and dogs turn out great on the pellet grill...highly recommend!!
Awesome... Thanks!
One of the favorite items we cook on the PitBoss smoker. Amazing smoke flavor, just give yourself some extra time.....its worth it!

I agree. I put jalapeņos on for about 45 min then the burgers. They always turn out great. Sometimes I use the smoke tube for extra smoke.
I always tell people they should really be called pellet smokers not grills. Can you grill on it, sure but its still a convectional heat smoker. Hamburgs, steaks, hotdogs and those things traditionally cooked over direct heat will have a different flavor and consistancy than your used to. So if your're focus is just grilling then I'd not recommend a pellet smoker. If you are interested in using it mainly as a smoker and grill ocassionally then you''ll love it.

Use the searing grates on a pellet Grill. It is not just for smoking. I use mine for everything.

I just ordered a new 2018 model REC TEC looks like its going to be very nice .
Get the grill grates if you want a good sear. Cooking steaks has never been easier.500 degrees about 6 minutes per side. Hamburgers that I make are 1/2 pound. Set the Rec Tec to 450 with the grill grates in place and cook 6 minutes per side for the juiciest burger you could ask for. Love my Rec Tec.
If anyone considering a pellet smoker , I can say the REC TEC is awesome .
They released a bunch of new products today with this controller.

I wouldn't call them a smoker or a grill. I own a Traeger and to me it is more of a wood fired oven, that smokes.
Just got the Rec TEC Bullseye and I love it so far! My wife and I were torn between the new mini or the bullseye and decided since we mostly cook fast dinners after work rather than slow cooks, the bullseye would be better for us. It cooks hot and fast great - we’ve done burgers, shrimp, and bacon that were all phenomenal. And it can do low and slow cooks - I smoked a whole bologna yesterday that turned out awesome. Tomorrow we will try our first rack of baby backs.
I own a Fast Eddies PG-1000 by Cookshack, it rocks. Grills so hot it will carbonize anything, even in the dead of winter.
