    Winch which one

I was cranking up my winch last time out and it never really got tight, so I unrolled the whole thing and recranked it back up and it did the same thing again. It seems like center is slipping, almost the same way braid slips on a spool with no backing. Maybe just time for a new one, never had any issues with it before this trip. It's on a 2009 ezloader trailer made for skeeter. Thanks for any input or suggestions on a new one.

Maybe just need a new strap or new bolt to anchor the strap.

I drilled a hole in the side of the winch both sides just above the weld on the shaft and ran a thin piece of stainless rod side to side across the winch. Then I looped the strap around it and it doesn't slip. Sounds like what ever you had for an anchor rusted through or broke. I bought a 3300 pound strap for $17 or less. Seems to work just fine. Could be a simple fix as noted above.
First thing I would do is run the strap all the way out -- put some tension on it while cranking to see why its not anchored to the center anymore.
