You can't explain to people it makes you feel

To be on the lake at daybreak. Yesterday was the first time in 5 years I was able to do it. Actually was tied up to the dock a little over an hour before

My wife loves to fish, but never really liked going before daylight. Always wondered why I left the house long before first light.
Until I convinced her to get up and experience it just once. It was new to her, so she was apprehensive about getting to the ramp first with no one there, launching the boat and parking the truck in the dark, and then idling out to the river channel.
Then the sun popped up over the horizon. I got up on plane and headed across the lake as it was coming up.
When we got to our first spot she commented, “I’ll never ask you again why you get to the lake so early. That was beautiful”.
    Nothing like it.

Just can't explain it. A person has to live it to appreciate it.

While sunsets are really nice, they just don’t compare to a sunrise on the water. All quiet, then everything awakens to start the day. Absolutely the best time to be on the water.

retired and fish a lot , I always go before sunup even in the winter not because the bite is better. I go because usually I have the whole lake to myself ,just the sounds of the world waking up,birds, bullfrogs. it is probably my imagination but I think it even smells better. I was on the water friday morning on Newton lake in Illinois maybe 2-3 rd boat there beautiful Idled to my spot shut off the motor just sat enjoying the sensation when a Burro or jackass started braying. Laughed my arse off

Nothing better than being on the water as the sun comes up with swirls of fog lifting off the water.
