    Prop heigh

I have a 2014 186 vlo. Got a raker prop 20 pitch on a 115 etec. I was out running it today after I took my 21 raker off trying to get it set right.
The 21 pitch was a little to much prop but at 56-5700 rpms i was at a top speed of 52 with my and tournament load.
So I'm messing around with the new 20 pitch and at about half trim I'm at 5000 rpms and if I click it up real quick it drops speed and throws a rooster tail. At 5000 there is none and I'm doing 45.2 GPS.
This being said I should lift the plate some to achieve more rpms right?
It's been 4 months since I last ran the boat and I really forgot how I had set it before.

Sounds like the 21 is the better prop

The 21 sounds just right, why do you say it's too much prop?

I dropped it down and had more lift with higher speed of 49. I'm still messing around with it when I have time. I'll be off the 11-26 of November

balance and blueprint that 21 should give you another 1-2 mph. 54 mph with a 115 should be about tops for an 18 footer!!
