    Hull cleaning products

What are some of the better products to keep the hull clean? I am not as familiar with aluminum as I am with fiberglass.

Napa sales aluminum brightner that is good for oxidation. After that slickmist by Lucas. Use it to wipe down the boat when you pull it out at the ramp like you would your glass boat and it keeps it looking really good a lot longer.

Use a good wax on the hull a couple of times a year and all you have to do is a quick wipe down with slick mist when you pull out of the water to keep her looking like new.

I mix water, windex, and vinegar in a spray bottle in equal parts to spray clean my boat after I take it out of the water. It has worked pretty well for me.

I have used White Diamond aluminum polish and sealant on mine a few times. It does a great job of cleaning the aluminum and it does not come out looking like shiny new aluminum that hurts your eyes to look at it. It will clean it and put a sealant on it to seal the pores --- but it is a little work. If the mosquitos are not bad I will wipe the boat down sometimes and use Lucas Slick Mist. But for the cleaning to get all the grime and junk off it you will find that White Diamond does a great job on cleaning the bare aluminum.

I use the white diamond polish also, but mine always goes back to looking like crap after a couple weeks. What is the sealer you are using

Aluminum Lund on this end.... I clean with windex and vinegar mix. I follow up with a spray on and wipe off wax. Works well.

On all the painted surfaces i wipe the boat down with slick mist along with the out oard and trailer. On the bare aluminum mine has such a natural tarnish at the water line that it almost looks black so we just wash the scum line off with car wash soap once in awhile. If inwere to polish it i would be sure yo seal it with sharkhide.

Sharkhide IS the only answer for Aluminum or just about any metal.
I have a 3 foot brass eagle on the front of my house that I coated 5 years ago and still looks good.

A good past wax once or twice a year. Then just wipe down with Lucas slick mist after pulling out of the water. Boat will stay looking like new.
