    “Service Suspension System”

Hey there friends. I was looking at a 2011 Tahoe today and I saw this message come up on the odometer screen. The message said service suspension system. Does anyone know what this could be and how potentially expensive it could be?

    Thanks in advance!

    See ya, HatfieldHog

Sure it didn't say to service stability system? If it said suspension I would assume the truck has auto leveling.

Could be the air leveling system, had that happen to my Denali after a fender bender. Insurance put me a new compressor in....

From what I've read, around $1200 - $2000 to fix.

The message regarding the suspension system can mean many different things and sometimes the problem is not at all that expensive to fix. Until your problem is properly diagnosed, it is impossible to know what your outlay to fix it may be. Good luck..............I have the same problem with my 2013 Tahoe LTZ.

Yep, suck in enough carbon monoxide and you won't worry about those trivial little warning messages.

If it's the air shocks be prepared to open your wallet! Computerized front and back.

If you're looking at the truck to buy, why not just tell the current owner his truck is broken and would need to be fixed prior to you buying it? If it's at a dealership they will definitely fix it prior to delivery.

Had my backs go out.....800 bucks......year or so later lost the right front.....replaced both.....another 600. Personally, I'll never ever own another GM with auto-ride or level ride.......whatever they choose to call it. I just use the Tahoe as a tow vehicle....2002 model. So far the compressor hasn't given me problems......but "Murphy" might get me as soon as I type this.....lol

I would never buy a vehicle with a warning light on.

No wonder vehicles are so ridiculously expensive these days ... since when did did truck ride quality & comfort require NASA level engineering ?

    It's a %^$# damn truck.

You can convert the air ride system over to regular shocks. From what I have read the ride is just as good.

If that vehicles for sale; I wouldn't touch it. That lights still on cause the current owner didn't want to pay through the nose to fix it. High probability it's gonna be a pricey repair.
