Bounty dryer sheets. Wet with water and the bug stuff melts away. I live in Tx, this is what we use.

Just used the turtle wax bug & tar remover this afternoon. Sprayed it on while finishing up washing the car, then washed it off with a webbed sponge. Some pressure still required, but no intense scrubbing to get the bugs off.

Love bugs are hard to get off after you drive from one end of the Texas to the other during love bug season. I've tried several kinds of bug and tar. None seem to work all that great. They were so bad this year, the car washes were having trouble getting them off.

A hard rain. During said rain, wash the hell out of the truck while the rain soaks it. The neighbors will look at you funny.

Lucus spray detailer. Spray on and wait a few seconds then rub off. Works good and not hard on paint or chrome plated plastic.

After you get them off, do yourself a huge favor and apply BBS to front of vehicle, A pillars, and back of side mirror - bugs will come right off when you wash next time.

Don't need the soap, just wet the dryer sheet and they come loose with a little rubbing then rinse

Really thought that after Irma the love bugs would have gotten blown away. More of the little buggers must have gotten blown here from FL!!! You have to wash them off often. I use a mix of simple green and dawn dish soap. Spray it on and let it soak. Still have to scrub....

I also learned this trick here on BBC a few years ago. Just wet them and off come the bugs.
