Just unboxed my Solix

Won't have time to install it today, but my first impression of it was.Wow! This thing is built like a tank compared to my Lowrance 12Gen3! Way heavier! I like well built items!

I have some coming and was told the same, that compared to my HDS 12's the Solix 12's are a lot heavier.
A lot heavier being hard to quantify without actually having one in my hand

Heavier does not always mean better: reference a Shimano Aldebaron vs Curado 70.

Seriously though, hope you love it. It's always a big risk switching platforms.

I guarantee you will notice the difference. It's like the Bird is professional grade, and the Lowrance is consumer grade!
