Buyers beware - Craig's List ChampioN in Yukon, OK

So I'm looking at potentially getting my first ChampioN. I reach out to a guy about a 1994 ChampioN for sale. Doesn't list the model in the ad but Boat looks clean clean clean in the pics for a 1994 and he says the same. It gets funny when I ask about the model. He says 203. I let him know I believe he may have a 204 on his hands as the 203 wasn't built until 1998 (thank you Pat Goff). Now he won't respond to my emails. If you are looking at this boat, I'm pretty sure it's a 204. Just be careful. This is the second time I have inquired on a early 90's ChampioN and been told it's either a 202 or 203 and it turns out to be a 204.

The 204 was only made for a few years if I recall.

Hi Champ owners. I'm also looking at a 1994 and owner doesn't know which model he's selling. I'm a newbie to Champ boats and seriously thinking of buying one. Can anyone tell me why the 204 is disliked . If this is a 204 and is in immaculate condition should I pass it up.

The 201 was still available in 94, but that one is a 204. It's almost a twin to my 93 201

I'm going to see boat on Saturday. I also noticed that all the 20ft Champs have tandom trailers. This one has a single axle trailer. Was that an option or made only for a certain model. Did they offer single axle trailers for 20 footers.

204 is easy to spot, the chines stop way before the front of the hull. A 201 is angles, consoles, etc. 204 is round.

Yes, the dual axle was actually an option at one point. When I ordered mine the single axle was standard.

Champfanman...the only thing I have heard "against" the 204 is that they can be a little difficult to set up....but once done, it is fine.

Not sure I understand your question about late model 1994 202s being sold as 1994s?????????

The guy I called on said the 94 was a 203. It can't be as the 203 wasn't introduced until 98. Maybe he has a 202. Doesn't matter because now that I questioned him on The model, he won't respond.

My other thread asking about the 204 is about a different boat.
