    New York Yankees....

One if the topics of today was are today's Yankees likable or are today's Yankees less evil? I'm a fan either way so I've been impressed with what they have accomplished to this point and I know they were a very hated team back in late 90s and early 00s... Mostly because they bought a lot of their talent.... A lot of the talent in the roster now is farm talent.. so what says the true baseball fan in you? Still a hater or less evil...?.?.

They are hated no matter what. People who hated them then still do today.

They are a bunch of bums....
So says a die hard red Sox fan....
But in all honesty they did seem to pull it together here in the off season but I would still love to see Houston take it all. That would be a real good deal for a town that has gone through so much.

I could care less but that's not why people don't like like them.

Dodgers paid more for theirs...$40 million more... So does that make the Yankees the 2nd best team that money can buy? And the dodgers the best team that money can buy???

Hold on there law. Lifelong Yankees fan here. The dynasty was not bought. Jeter, Posada, Williams, Petite, Mo and more all came up through the Yankees farm system. It worked quite well, but then Cashman or George, or both got greedy and tried to buy a team by paying rediculous salaries to players like Arod, Clemmons and others. The results were not near as good as the core 4 from the farm. Now it seems the Yankees are really putting effort and value back into the farm system and the future looks bright. Jeter was magic and I doubt I'll ever admire another player as much as him, but I love this current team and have faith they will be in the world series, put up a fight against the Dodgers (yes sorry the Cubs are done) and be very competitive for several years.

BTW, I say Judge wins MVP by a landslide

The core 4 were not bought you are correct, but some of the most important players of the start of the like O'Neill and Brosius, especially Paul O'Neill were brought in as utility players and just bought into the New York Yankee way.... Not a ton of money on these guys.... But then after the winning starting that's when the spending really started... Don't think I'll ever forget old Yankee stadium chanting Paul O'Neill after a homer or a big play..... He was true grit about what that team was all about.. and helped Jeter, Pettite, posada, and Rivera figure out their way.. the old veterans on those team could not be overlooked...Girardi was one of em...

Agreed! But I'm not bashing all the years we did blow a bunch of money. Arod had two MVP seasons in NY. Clemens had a Cy Young award in NY. Jason Giambi had a flare for big hits. Gary Sheffield was a great player in NY. Those teams were just as good but just never quite got the results. They were always in the mix though. NY's biggest problem in those years was Boston having a super talented team also.

Love'em or hate'em, the Yankees are going to beat Houston, then its off to put the Dodgers down.

As for the Dodgers, its good that they have the next 5 days off. It'll give them time to get their affairs in order.

No one can be wrong that often so it has to be deliberate.
