I'm 38 and the wife is 34, she will be 36 when the house is paid off. Not so much because we really knock it down but because we only borrowed what most spend on a car.
I work with guys who are in there 50's that owe 1-200k and they are perfectly fine with it. They always say would you rather spend million or die with a million. It's more of a mental thing for me, I don't want to owe anybody when I'm looking to retire. Congrats on your achievement, I bet it feels great
