Will new X5 work on old gator mount

If I buy a new X5 will it just slide right in my old gator mount?

No, the outer shaft on the X5 is larger than the outer shaft on the older Motorguides. Just as a FYI, the outer shaft of the X5 / X3 is the same as that of a MinnKota, so the X5 or X3 will fit in a MinnKota mount.

Yes, the composite shaft is a larger diameter than the stainless steel shaft.

Thank you sir. Is the lower unit assembly on the hand control x5 the same size as the lower unit a motorguide F82HBA?

If the F82HBA has the stainless shaft, the bunge the shaft goes into will keep it from changing out.
