    Bass Cat build

Is Bass Cat still built with wood in the transom? If not, due you know when they stopped putting wood in their boats?

I think that anything after 2001 is wood free and most of the 2000 models are also.....

They put a doomed sticker on that say all composite on the back left corner of the top cap in the early all composite material days.......

Some models started in 1998 or 1999 MY and they were all converted sometime in 2000.

There is a difference as the one time explanation that a composite can be any material, which today is misused to indicate a plastic or composite of plastic and glass composition. There is a difference in the resin and fiberglass only construction without a urethane foam board stringer or transom. NO "composite" materials, as the term is used today in boating, exist in a Bass Cat hull.

BassCat boats are all built like a brick s@#thouse, even the older models when the wood was encapsulated in glass. If you compare weights to other boats, BassCat is able to build a very strong boat that is typically not as heavy as some other brands of the same length/width. IMO, that is because they use no more resin than is necessary. Excess resin adds weight without strength. Add to all that a hull design second to none, and you get a boat that is both fast and strong, plus rides like a luxury car.
