    Autochart

Can you somehow back up the map data on a autochart card in case something happens to the card? I have alot of very very valuable Info on there!

    Sure can!

ALL of your ACL mapping data (on the card) goes in a folder called: ACDATA .

The unit saves map data in .ACU files and those can be converted to & fro to .ACD files with AC for PC, but the great thing is it's your data and you can copy just that folder onto another SD Card or copy it to a folder on your PC (or both if you really want to back up your back up!).

Of course the easiest thing you can do is copy that whole folder and periodically copy your newer data to that folder so you're fairly fresh on a back up should you lose anything.

The best part of this - the card is a 32 GB card and about half is used for the actual zero lines and encrypted data, the ACL files are TINY and you're writing tiny amounts of data to the card.

Reading an SD Card (or any flash media) doesn't cause much "wear", the writing to a card is what causes the "most wear" so since the data is so puny, very little "wear" accrues over time.

GOOD idea to back it up - but chances are if the card hasn't failed, it probably will go for years and years.
