    2008 250 etec

I have hesitation when I give it
full throttle out of the hole. I
adujusted my hot foot but did
    not change anything. Any ideas?
    Runs fine other than that.

My guess is that you have carbon buildup or some other mechanical issue that is causing the engine to hesitate. When in doubt, I always start with the simplest things. Spark plugs clean and recently changed? Run full synthetic XD-100? Fuel lines updated? Fuel good, with no water or other contamination? Fuel pump issues? Exhaust system clean?

I should have said it has a lag from
when you hit the throttle to when
    it takes off.

That’s what I thought you meant... Still sounds like spark plugs, excessive carbon buildup, bad gas, fuel line, lift (fuel) pump, or exhaust pressure sensor to me.

This ^^^ simple things first....those plugs like to be gapped tight .028.. You can usually tell if the plugs are getting wide, by wanting to die when shifting gears while engine is warming up....exhaust pressure sensor needs to be cleaned or changed around 100 hours...... Try those first and make sure to index the plugs...

Mine will also do this depending on what prop I’m running when I run the 28 bravo dual Pvs it legs for a sec then takes off. My txp ot 4 is just instant.

I will try that thanks. What about the throttle position
    sensor?

You can ohm it out with a meter....checking for inconsistances up and down the range or a dead spot where it won't register....

I'd check the throttle cable adjustment.

I was told this was due to the fuel map changing from low speed to high speed and might only be on quirk on H.O. units.
You can adjust were this happens in the RPM by messing with TPS sensor....but not sure what other implications this would have.
Using OMC cleaner helped mine, but it's still there slightly. Mine happens from say 2500-2600 and it's a split 2nd hesitation. It more noticeable when given it full throttle from complete stop.
