    Homemade hydrodip activator progress

    For all of you who hydrodip at home I thought I would share what I hope is a success. After watching a youtube video of a guy in austrailia who didnt have access to the actual activator I figured I would give it a shot. He showed mixing roughly 30% Xylen to 70% auto paint reducer. I didnt have any reducer on hand but did have MEK and Xylene. Mixed up about 25% Xylene to 75% MEK and my first dip was successful. I need to do some more tests to make sure its good to go but if so its a much cheaper alternative true activator. You could literally make gallons for the price of a quart.
