    Wire help

I'm running a fishfinder directly to a 12v battery. The fishfinder draws about 615mA. The fishfinder currently has a supply wire that is probably 18 or 20 gauge. I'm putting an inline fuse onto the supply wire, but do I need a bigger wire connected to the battery? I just don't want to burn up the wire. Any input is appreciated

I would suggest a 12ga from battery to depth finder harness. That is for both the positive and negative wiring.
