Cisco stabilizer for Ulterra: what kind of screws?

I got this Cisco mount and no screws were included. What type of screw should I use to mount this on the carpeted portion of my deck? I'm going to Home Depot this week to shop. I measured the smallest part of the hole at 1/4 inch. Looks like it needs some kinda screw with a tapered head. I pickup a drill and screwdriver maybe twice a year so I need help from the pros here. Click the photo to make it bigger.

Most wood screws have a tapered head like that.

That's what I thought. But is a wood screw appropriate for the deck under the carpet? I have no idea what that material is made of.

Wood screws work fine in fibgerglass or metal.

Stainless oval head screw, if you have access underneath use oval head machine screws, washers and nuts.
