    Spark plugs and brown stuff

    How do the plugs look?
Does anyone know what the brown stuff on the heads is?

Looks like bits of carbon to me.

I suspect he is asking about the brown crud running down the cylinder head between the bolt heads and the block. Just about has to be water from somewhere.

I'd pull that box off on top of the port cylinder head. IIRC that's the idle stabilizer box, but then again, it might be the oil pump alarm. Take it off and see where that leak is. There's so much of it, I'd suspect a hose somewhere or a bad clamp.

Thanks for your opinions. I'm hoping Don chimes in also.

I have no experience with that motor but I think you have the water cooler regulator on top of the motor, above the water stains. There could be a leak from it somewhere.

+1... pull the box, locate the origin (highest area with that stain), and snap some higher-resolution pictures to post.

Definitely appears to be some from of water stain (either that or a big gremlin with a bad case of sinus drainage).

Don thanks for you knowledge and help. The stain is on both sides of both heads.
