    Broken Ultrex

While fishing on Sat. at end of day, went to use foot pedal and heard a noise like plastic breaking ( did not see any broken pieces )? After that no response from foot pedal to move Ultrex. Took cover off of bottom of pedal. One cable end with little ball on end was out of it's place ( put it back in it's slot ). Cables seem to have more play in them than you would think?? I can move the foot pedal by hand and it is very loose. Any idea what may have broke? Motor still runs, but cannot be steered. Thanks Mike

The problem is in the head, maybe a broken cable, but more likely broken plastic pieces.

I don't have an Ultrex, but if the head comes apart, you should be able to see what happened.
It should be under warranty anyway?

Where the cables from the footpedal attach to the motor there is a little cover, popit off with a small flathead screwdriver. Unplug the harness. There are 2 small screws in the bottom, remove those. Remove that cover, this is where the cable drum fits over the steering shaft.
That may or may not be where the problem lies.
All of that is in the installation instructions under indexing the motor. Hope this helps and it is a ez fix . Good luck.

It sounds like a broken cable. It is under warranty. Do Not void the warranty by trying to work on it yourself. Take it to an Authorized Service Center.
