    Ranger Bench Seat

So looks like my bench seat for my 88 Ranger 363v flew out of the boat on the freeway
and somehow I didn’t notice. Went back and looked for it and never found it.
Any ideas on what I should do? Make a new one? Find an old one? Order bucket seats?

A good upholstery shop could make you a new one. We could at my shop if you were closer...I’m sure Ranger can make you one also.

Call Ranger with your SN and order a new one. Takes about 4 weeks.

think about buckets so you don't have anyone stepping on the seat to get up or down on the back deck, you could make a step and carpet it to fit between them or even add cup holders or whatever

Didn't really want to drop $600 on buckets right now. So I am bought some high density foam and some close matching vinyl and am going to make my own bench.
Hopefully it works for the time being.

Caleb, do you still have the fiberglass shell or did the whole thing fly out?

I have a garage kept '90 model 362 and have ordered a 2011 coin box and a 2014 Z518 bucket to match the one I bought off of ebay. Should be here in a couple of more weeks. I am going to have to modify my side storage box beside the seat, well remove it. The seat opening is 66" now and the new setup is 71 1/2".

As an update I have all pieces made for the new bench seat just need to staple to the plywood and it will be good!
For never using a sewing machine before I impressed myself. I did have some situations that left m screaming at the machine but now I can say that I can re upholster!

So Here is the progress so far, I purchased all the material from Amazon. The foam was a high density 5" Foam for $59.99 The Vinyl was $7.99 a yard and I bought what I believed to be close in color o my old ben but turn out the color is much lighter.
I cut the support from some left over plywood I ad from another project.
Now came the fun part that resulted in a few broken needles a little yelling at that stupid contraption called a sewing machine or to make myself feel more manly about it I like to call it "thread injector"!!!!!!
Its no completely finished yet but I think for someone never using a "tread Injector I turned out pretty good.

I've got to do something similar to my 93 372v. Did you just lay the plywood on top of the gas tank? Or did you build a frame around the tank, keeping the plywood from hitting it? I'm a little concerned with weight pushing down on the tank if someone steps between the seats.

On my boat there was 3 metal pieces that run over the tank that the last bench sat on. I placed it on top of that.
