    Trailer light replacement

Replacing the lights on my new to me 2005 Triton TR20X trailer. After removing the lights I noticed some rusting on ground wire screws and moisture on the inside the trailer. I had fished earlier that morning. This is a tube type trailer. Anyone ever drill a drain hole in the lowest portion of the trailer under center running lights? I thought this might aide water exit from inside tubes. Never had a tube trailer always c-channel. Thanks for your input.

Yes. Most tube trailers already have some means for water to drain......Wire clearance holes, plastic ends caps, etc.....

I had some rust starting on my o4 trailer just below the running pad..I cleaned it down to bare metal with grinder and stiff brush. Drilled a 1/2" hole at the lowest portion of the trailer and painted with rustoleum primer then gloss black.. seems to have stopped it externally and should allow the inside part of the trailer to dry out..

Thanks! I currently do not have a low point drain on my trailer. I'm going to do pretty much what you did smallmouthguy.
