Mega settings?

I hate to ask dumb questions but just need some direction it seems. I'm still trying to get a buddy up and going with his new mega unit. Me being a Lowrance guy I'm not so sure how to set this up. So here are a few.
He'lll be fishing fairly clear water 25 ft or less.

2D Chirp Display: Med/High/med-High?
Image Chirp Frequency: 400/800/no option of Mega?
2D Switch Fire: Clear/Max?
Image Switch Fire: Clear Mode/ Max Mode?
Bottom View: Whiteline/ Structure ID?
Noise Filter: Low/Med/High 1,2,3?
Jigging Mode: On/Off?
Water Type: Fresh/Salt water (shallow)?

Factory defaults work pretty good out of the box FWIW.

That DVD is about $20 and if he resets the defaults, he'll be in good shape until he gets his feet wet on his settings.

Thanks for your help and suggestions. Looks like he'll make that purchase I have one thing with it I'm confused about. This is a new unit of course bought it from BBG. It is running the 1.460 software version. I've been watching all the mega vids on YouTube and from what I see there they are running older software but on the sonar drop down menu it gives 2D Chirp Display, the next two under that is DI and SI Chirp Display and they are using the Mega setting. This unit under the 2D Chirp Display just has Image Chirp Display and the only options for it are 455 and 800, no Mega option? Am I missing something? By the way it has a XM 9 20 MSI T tranducer

2d has no mega setting, just chirp and 455 and 800 are si and di frequencies

Good news to report. I just happened to stumble across the problem today while on the water with it. It had the wrong transducer selected! When I put it on the Mega transducer the drop down menu changed to what it was supposed to be and would then let me select Mega on SI and DI. Don't know how it got that way?..... Don't think I did it? But you never know!

When all else fails, reset defaults!

Yes reset defaults...

I had mine so screwed up nothing worked correctly. I reset defaults and have only made very minor tweaks to contrast here and there and it works great.
