It is pricey but after looking for a year for something better, I put one on my wife's seat to help her back. It works great!. Seat does not feel firmly attached to floor anymore but of course it isn't. Lots of bolts and tough for me to get at but pretty straightforward install. Looked at several "shock" style units but ugly and even more $$$. Thumbs up in my opinion.

Its basically a hinge for your seat. The pivot point is up front and in the rear they use a sorta bump stop to absorb the shock. After thinkin about it I im just gonna run to the metal shop monday and pick up some stainless angle. I should be able to make the basic hinge.. Then ill order a couple soft bump stops.

I have an idea in my head where I could use a small strut like from a small go kart suspension but im not sure it would be any better. Any thoughts on that idea are welcome.

Some mid range john deere lawn tractors and spartan zero turn mowers have the same setup. I had an lx277 deere with that system except the bumpers only last about a year on them

So I think you are referring to this. Cabelas site was down so just referring to west marine.

Maybe im nuts but how can this even work. Are they relying on the aluminum bending to provide flex ?? If so wouldnt metal fatigue eventually cause it to fail ??

Thats what I was thinking, cheaper too.

They have a speed limit of 9km/h so forget them.
