Fortrex lift assist out?

I have a year old fortrex and the lift assist appears to have gone out. I have a new shock but I can’t get the upper mounting screws out. Any tips?

Heat the screws with a heat gun

Mine is two years old and i have yet to believe that the lift and assist shock even worked. My other lift and assist on my 24 volt minkota actually worked. Now I'm having a problem of noise. I looked at the prop pin and it was bent. I swapped it out and it still makes noise. This motor is to new to be doing this already??? It seems when i have the thrust at 50 it makes noise. When I am at 40 or less it's tolerable. Could water have gotten inside????
