    Jackplate help

Getting a Javelin Renegade 20 with a 225 Johnson on it. Currently has no jackplate. I'm planning to add jackplate and power poles. What do you recommend for "setback" and what's the advantages/disadvantages to length of setback? Feel free to text me with responses.

A friend of mine has one with a 200 and a 6" manual plate. He runs 64-66mph with a Raker 24p. That's a big boat.

6" should do you well, set motor to 3.5 below pad to start. My 20 gets 72mph at 6000rpms.

6'' is what the factory put on them if you ordered it with one and they do help a bunch. You will find the perfect spot for your pumps right in front of the live wells. Pull out the storage boxes on both side and you will have access and see what I'm talking about. Run that rig with a 25 Trophy and you will be a happy camper. Feel free to ask away about the boat. I've had mine since new in 2000.

Yep. The 200 isn't enough for all the stuff he carries in it.
