    2001 Champion 187 w/ Johnson 150 OIS jackplate/Prop HELP!!!!

Hello I have 2001 Champion 187 with a 2002 Johnson 150 OIS motor. I currently have a Manuel jackplate and a 22 pitch prop. I'm curious to get the MAX out of my motor so people with the exact same motor or size what prop do you run? What night do you adjust jackplate too??? Thanks you for any help

Welcome to BBC. I had an 03 with 175 Johnson. There is no exact jackplate setting. Every prop and motor are a little different. Every angler carrys different loads. What are you seeing right now? I'd imagine you should be running high 50's any day about 5600 RPMS.

Like n2 said every boat is different. 3 1/2" p2p is a normal starting point, come up 1/4" per run till you lose speed or water pressure, then drop back down to previous setting. Make sure you have the boat loaded when testing 2 adults, full of fuel, and water in the livewells. Once you have the motor set with a load it will run better when light if you set up light then a load will dog it out.
