688 Unit runs fine until I crank motor, screen blinks, then the time & speed on screen starts blinking, and I have to turn unit off/on to fix it.
I did have a 859 unit that did just fine until it stopped working. I just connected he 688 using same wiring. Unit is wired to cranking battery.
Suggestions?

Either your battery is weaker now than before or your wiring/connections has more resistance due to age/corrosion.
The 600 series uses less amps than a 800 series.
