Contact cement application on replacement carpet

For those of you that have replaced your carpet, was a roller or brush better to apply the cement? seems like with all the pieces of carpet, and the time needed to cut, apply, trim, etc., I will be going through a lot of brushes and/or rollers. I see some have used both spray adhesive as well as regular contact cement. Any advantage to the spray in certain areas?

Buy a hand full of the cheap bristled brushed. When one starts to get stiff, chuck it and grab another. No rollers.

Brushes it is. HF has the best price, much less than Lowes or HD. Thanks!
