I have a 2007 225 ETEC after a long idle through a no wake zone will sputter and takes a little time to take off. After that it runs great. I bought it new and it has over 900 hrs. Any help would be appreciated.

Plugs changed recently? Fuel lines good/up to date? Are you running XD-100? If not, maybe need decarboning. Fuel pumps can start to get weak in less than 900 hours, too. They will pull fuel fine at full throttle but less fine at idle speed, letting the fuel system overload with oil (and foul plugs).

Exhaust pressure sensor been cleaned or replaced?
Plugs are three weeks old. I have used XD-50 since day one. Fuel pumps, fuel lines, and exhaust pressure sensor have never been checked. I will address all three. It's been a great motor with only changing one injector in 900 plus hours. Thanks for the info.
XD-50 does not burn as clean as XD-100. Because these motors do carbon up if you idle a lot, I always run the full synthetic, and it does help.
