How to research a dealer?

I haven't owned a boat in 25 years, and I'm looking to get back into it soon. I've read a lot about the search process on these forums, and there are many posts advising to research dealers before buying. But I haven't found anything about how to do that. I've tried doing google searches for <dealer name> reviews, etc. but I'm not finding much. Any advice on how to research the dealers I'm looking at?

Just ask on here, I'm sure there will be a few that have dealt with most dealers out there.

Check with local bass clubs and just go talk to the boat shops, see what the people are like.
Look at the boats they sell and see if they fit your needs.
